What does the *C-*R,MEAN on a prescription bottle right after the type of medication?

i take morphine,30mg's and on the bottle its read morphine*C-*R.what does this mean?What does the *C-*R,MEAN on a prescription bottle right after the type of medication?
C.R. = controlled release. There is sometimes confusion next to generics as a number of abbreviation can mean like peas in a pod or different things!
M.R.= modified release
S.R. = slow release
X.L. is also a release system.
The worry is are the preparations 12 or 24 hour release?
C.R. is usually 12 hour.
Controlled release.
Usually Controlled Release. It process that the drug will slowly (controlled) be released into your system. It is important to not miss a CR drug and if you do, phone the pharmacy or when contained by doubt, take it at your subsequent scheduled time. Do not double up.
