What is the difference between ionic silver and colloidal silver?

I realise both are suspensions of silver as a mineral supplement - but are they the same article? What is the difference between ionic silver and colloidal silver?
You know, I was wondering like peas in a pod thing when a co-worker of mine, also into the healty lifestyle mentioned to me the wonders of Collodial Silver.
I started penetrating the web and come across this site:
http://www.silver-colloids.com/reports/r...
It explains in full detail the differences between ionic silver solutions , silver protein, and true colloidal silver. If also give you the results of scientific trials run on several brand so that you can make an informed outcome on which brand to buy.
I like newbieblue's answer. The relation has profusely of good info. But it is written by a company that sell ionic silver. There is a lot of controversy more or less which is better.
Ionic silver contains much smaller particles of silver than plain ripened colloidal silver. The idea is that it is enthralled into the bloodstream more readily. The colloidal silver manufacturers own come to rely on parts-per-million as a measurement of strength: 500ppm vs 10ppm you can procure in homemade product. Now the ionic guys are wise saying particle size is everything and most of their product is with the sole purpose 20ppm, which isn't much.
Anecdotally, both products work well. Even only just eating bad a silver plate and using a silver spoon puts some bacteria-killing silver into the body. Personally I wouldn't pay a great deal more for ionic silver. I work in a intuitive foods store.
